L'utilisation des agents stimulant l'érythropoïèse est contre-indiqué dans les patients avec l'hypertension non contrôlée. Ces agents peuvent causer une pression artérielle à la hausse. Encéphalopathie Hypertensive et des convulsions ont été observées chez les patients atteints d'insuffisance rénale chronique traités par ces agents. La pression artérielle doit être contrôlée de façon adéquate avant l'initiation du traitement, et étroitement surveillés pendant le traitement. Agressif antihypertenseur mesures peuvent être nécessaires, en particulier au début du traitement lorsque l'hématocrite est en augmentation. Il est recommandé de réduire ou de refuser l'utilisation de ces agents si la pression artérielle devient difficile à contrôler.
