L'utilisation de l'amrinone, et rarement, la milrinone, peut provoquer une thrombopénie. Cela semble être dose-dépendante et se produit généralement au cours d'un traitement prolongé. La thérapie avec amrinone et la milrinone doit être administré avec prudence chez les patients atteints de thrombocytopénie. La posologie peut être nécessaire de réduire ou d'interrompre le traitement si la numération plaquettaire tombe en dessous de 150 000/mm3 ou si des symptômes se développent. La numération des plaquettes avant et pendant le traitement sont recommandés.
