Ce médicament peut causer des infarctus toxicité conduisant à l'insuffisance cardiaque congestive (CHF). Les Patients souffrant déjà de maladies de cœur, avant l'irradiation, traitement antérieur avec des composés tels que la daunorubicine, l'idarubicine ou de la doxorubicine ou de l'âge avancé sont plus à risque de cardiotoxicité à une plus faible dose cumulative. L'incidence de la drogue induit une insuffisance cardiaque congestive chez les adultes augmente lorsque la dose cumulative totale de la mitoxantrone dépasse 140 mg/m2. Une surveillance clinique étroite de la fonction cardiaque, tels que la détermination de la fraction d'éjection ventriculaire gauche, avant chaque cycle de traitement est recommandée.
