Les tétracyclines (à l'exception de la doxycycline) sont éliminés par les reins diverses. Les Patients atteints d'insuffisance rénale peuvent être plus à risque pour la tétracycline associée à une insuffisance hépatique et/ou de toxicité rénale (augmentation de la BRIOCHE, avec pour conséquence une azotémie, une hyperphosphatémie et une acidose) due à une diminution de la clairance du médicament. La thérapie avec les tétracyclines doit être administré avec prudence à des doses réduites chez les patients atteints d'insuffisance rénale. La surveillance clinique de la fonction rénale et hépatique est recommandée, et le sérum de la tétracycline, les concentrations peuvent être nécessaires au cours d'un traitement prolongé.
