Les inhibiteurs calciques (inhibiteurs calciques) sont largement métabolisé par le foie. La demi-vie de la CCBs peut être prolongée de manière substantielle dans les patients avec l'affaiblissement hépatique sévère, avec un important potentiel d'accumulation du médicament. En outre, l'utilisation de certains inhibiteurs calciques a été associé à des élévations des transaminases sériques, à la fois avec et sans une élévation concomitante de la phosphatase alcaline et de bilirubine. Bien que ces effets peuvent être transitoire et réversible, plusieurs patients ont développé une cholestase ou une lésion hépatocellulaire qui a été prouvé par la reprise du traitement. Le traitement avec les inhibiteurs des canaux calciques doivent être administrés avec prudence et souvent à des doses réduites chez les patients atteints de manière significative altération de la fonction hépatique. La surveillance périodique de la fonction hépatique et excessif sur les effets pharmacologiques (par exemple, les anomalies de la prolongation de l'intervalle PR) est conseillé, et le dosage ajusté si nécessaire.
