L'utilisation de bêta-adrénergiques bloquants (aka les bêta-bloquants) est contre-indiqué dans les patients avec des sinus bradyarythmie ou un bloc cardiaque de plus que le premier degré (sauf en cas de fonctionnement d'un stimulateur cardiaque). En raison de leur impact négatif inotrope et chronotrope des effets sur le cœur, l'utilisation de bêta-bloquants est susceptible d'aggraver ces conditions.
